Ragdoll Cat Coat Colors
Ragdolls come in four main patterns.
Ragdoll cat coat colors. Regardless of the color and the type of point of a ragdoll cat its color progression will be different over time. And parti colored or tortie. Full color development may not be evident until 2 3 years of age. Coat color and grooming ragdolls stand out for their large size semi long coat in a pointed pattern and sparkling blue eyes.
A ragdoll has a light colored body with a darker face legs tail and ears. The six point colors are seal blue chocolate lilac red and cream. There are slight differences between the look and feel of their fur. Red red or flame ragdolls have a fiery orange colour to their coats.
Their luxurious ragdoll coat is one of their finest and most sought after features. Bi color van mitted and colorpoint. The differences are subtle. Ragdolls are born white unless they are minks and ragdoll patterns and colors come in slowly.
You can also get tabby also known as lynx variants and tortoiseshell variants. Then as the kitten gets older the darker areas grow alongside it to develop its pattern. It is somewhere between a light brown and a red. But nonetheless there are differences.
You can tell seal and blue anywhere from a few days to a week but you cannot determine chocolate and lilac for 3 4 weeks. While it is a kitten it will go from full white to white with some dark colored areas in the extremities. The ragdoll breed is essentially a medium long haired breed of cat. Ragdoll kittens are born white acquiring their coloring and coat pattern as they age.
There are other colours now available that have been brought into many bloodlines by out crossing. The ragdoll coat however may differ from other cats of this breed. The standard ragdoll catcolours are seal and blue only. Colorpoint ragdolls have the classic pointed markings and no white anywhere in their coat.
Why does this happen. Point colors may be solid lynx including tortie lynx. The ragdoll has a bunny soft semi longhair coat which does not require extensive grooming. It is most common to see ragdolls with a red mitted coat.
They are among the largest of the domesticated cats with some males weighing in at 20 pounds or more. Cream cream is a similar colour to red although it is much lighter. These are seal blue chocolate lilac red and cream. The ragdoll cathas a soft semi long coat which does not require as regular a grooming as many other long haired breeds.
Some ragdolls have long guard hairs. The tica ragdoll breed standard for the ragdoll cat allows the following colors. These patterns also appear in six major colors seal blue chocolate lilac red and cream while the points can be solid lynx tortie or torbie.
